Tomorrow is Juneteenth

Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865, when enslaved Black people in Texas were finally informed of their freedom, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued. It is both a celebration of Black resilience, liberation, and community and a reminder that justice delayed is justice denied. Juneteenth is a day of celebration, and also calls us to confront the ongoing legacy of slavery, racism, and inequity while recommitting ourselves to the work of racial justice, equity, and collective liberation.
