Service Description

1.5 hours of continuing education provided. This training will provide definitions and explanation of sex, gender, sexual orientation, and associated terms, and will discuss stereotypes, norms and bias, and discrimination. Additionally, this training will cover school culture, suicide and risk factors, and best practices for an inclusive school environment. This interactive training will be supported by a PowerPoint presentation and PDF handout(s) for each participant to keep as a reference for future use. This training will address the following learning objectives: 1) Identify key terminology and concepts, including the difference between sex, sexual orientation, and gender, gender identity, and gender expression 2) Examine the impact of anti-LGBTQ+ bias and gender bias on interactions and behavior 3) Discuss principles of creating a safe school environment The facilitator will provide CE required sign in sheets, training surveys, and certificates of completion.


Cancellation Policy

FOR LOCAL EL PASO AREA TRAININGS- Cancellation and rescheduling of trainings is allowable up until 30 days before the scheduled trainings. After that timeframe no refunds will be issued for any cancellations. Emergency rescheduling inside the 30 day window is allowable due to COVID and possibly other unforeseen circumstances. The reschedule date will be negotiated between DRIEP and the client. FOR NON-LOCAL TRAININGS INVOLVING FACILITATOR TRAVEL- No cancellations or refunds are available. Rescheduling of trainings may allowable up until 30 days before the scheduled trainings, however this may involve additional fees to accommodate changing travel and lodging reservations. Emergency rescheduling inside the 30 day window is allowable due to COVID and possibly other unforeseen circumstances. The reschedule date will be negotiated between DRIEP and the client and this may involve additional fees to accommodate changing travel and lodging reservations. FOR BOTH LOCAL AND NON-LOCAL TRAININGS- Should the assigned/scheduled facilitator experience an emergency or be otherwise unable to facilitate the scheduled training, DRIEP will notify the client and offer to attempt to assign another facilitator or to reschedule the training. If the client chooses to assign another facilitator and DRIEP is unable to do so, DRIEP will again offer to reschedule. If a training must be rescheduled by DRIEP due to emergency circumstances, the client will not be responsible for any additional fees.
