What is Fellowship?

The role of the Diversity and Resiliency Institute of El Paso (DRIEP) Fellow is to provide educational content, engage in research, or other contributions pursuant to the mission of the Institute: To promote the values of diversity and inclusion through education and training, fostering resiliency in professional practice, company culture, and within the community.

Fellows receive project-based compensation for content they create and/or facilitate.  

​

Requirements/Qualifications of Fellowship:

  • Minimum 5-years of education and/or work/volunteer experience in at least one of the following areas:

    • mental health

    • public health 

    • social work

    • social services

    • academia

    • community engagement

    • health care

    • health and wellness

    • substance abuse and recovery

    • leadership

    • issues related to race, class, gender, sex, sexual orientation

    • advocacy

    • U.S. history

    • border history

  • A minimum of intermediate level skills in public speaking/workshop facilitation

  • A minimum of intermediate level skills in utilizing basic items for creating/facilitating: Microsoft programs, Google Drive/Docs, Zoom

  • Must have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree, with Graduate degree preferred​​

-OR-​

  • Must have a high school diploma/GED and 7 years of work/volunteer experience in one of the areas outlined above

  • Must contribute at minimum two items of educational content annually. Content includes:

    • Live Webinars​

    • In-person trainings (when safe)

    • Asynchronous online trainings

    • Short educational videos

    • Blogs

    • Assisting with research

    • Forums, panels, and other speaking engagements

    • Creating/facilitating processing groups

    • Providing consultation to organizations/institutions

If you hold a license in another State or discipline, it is not guaranteed that our content will meet your requirements.  We recommend that you check with your licensing body for any requirements and allowances.
