Poverty is an incredibly complex issue that is often talked about in terms of willpower vs. laziness and deserving vs. undeserving. This workshop will address the complexities of poverty and seek to change the way we talk about poverty and work with those who are experiencing it.

Attendees will:

  • Develop knowledge about different levels of poverty

  • Learn about stereotypes and social constructs surrounding poverty

  • Identify barriers to resources and services

  • Develop skills to more effectively engage with people experiencing poverty
