I, like many of us, want to think I'm one of the 'good ones,' that training sessions like this are really just a review for me of history and concepts I already know. That line of thinking is dead wrong. While I was familiar with some of the terms and some of the historical events, I can never think that I know enough. Each time, things resonate differently, it sinks a little deeper. So like Ashley said, we have to keep at it, keep digging at our own racist and white supremacists roots to really get at the root of why we think and feel this way, whether consciously or subconsciously. I also appreciated Ashley's definition of toxic white guilt and causing more harm to those we're trying to 'help.'
