My thoughts about white exceptionalism are that is it widespread and that it is a normal response to any affront on our morality. I have been content in the past with thinking that because I am being kind to everyone that I am not being part of a larger problem. I'm now eager to take more action and learn how I can do right by marginalized groups. This module looks so informative and as though it will help equip me with useful tools so I can become the ally I thought I was. I'm looking forward to learning how to actually implement anti-racism.
As for white guilt and shame, I honestly haven't felt true individual guilt or shame in this process, though I feel like maybe I should. It does seem to be a collective feeling among whites. I think I am generally forgiving of myself and realize that I've already come a long way in terms of becoming an ally. Mostly I find these terms and videos fascinating and the main thing I am feeling is curiosity and an urge to talk about it with others.
