Thank you for calling that out. I have noticed it when talking with some of my white colleagues, and I have also engaged with it - coming from a place of shame and ego instead of being willing to be uncomfortable and do my own work.
I have lots of work to do still, and I like how Jay Smooth likened it to brushing my teeth. There is a group online I left because I was so offended by the criticism I received from other white folks about my (I guess ignorantly racist comments). I can now see my thinking (white saviorship) in my comment. I appreciate the advice to use my own stories and how I learned about racism when engaging with others who don't think racism is a problem.
Discussion Decorum: Participants will treat each other with respect. When disagreeing or debating, focus comments on the facts and training content, not personalities. No personal attacks. Purposefully rude or derogatory language will not be tolerated.
