I know that Jay Smooth was thinking that we need to remember, to guide our own reactions, that racism isn't binary, but for me it is going to be very helpful in listening to other people's opinions and stories. I know I have work to do on myself, and that I am no where near perfect. But when I listen to others, I expect them to be perfect on this issue... and am inclined to be over zealous when they are not.
His observation that being anti-racist is like being clean, we need act on it regularly, is going to help me have patience with others, and myself.
I just need to keep being aware of it.
