I thought the section about white savior situations in movies was a great addition. I have found myself (as a white person) sometimes cringing or shaking my head at certain plot lines of movies. It is frustrating, like in the example of Hidden Figures, when Hollywood chooses to outright change a non-fiction story. I think it is inappropriate and disrespectful to those that lived it and contributed to that story, and it literally adds nothing to the story. If those scenes with Cosner were gone, it would make no difference, the movie would still be good and make its point in a more powerful manner. I think it shed light on the fact that the experiences and stories from POC are constantly policed. Book editors, hollywood directors, etc. want something easily digestible for the [white] masses, rather than being willing to push buttons and make a statement.
