I am feeling a LOT more prepared to talk about race. I feel so much more confident than I did when I started this training...I'd even say I went a full step from somewhere between apathetic and aware to active, and soon I hope to feel like I can call myself an advocate. I don't think I actually learned that much about how to engage, though the speakers did mention some useful tools such as how to not get defensive of yourself if you mess up. In order to engage, I would feel more prepared seeing and learning from actual demonstrations of typical conversations....a toolbox of phrases to use to de-escalate a conflict would be super helpful!
