The idea that anti-racist work is a practice that we must carry out every day by engaging in our imperfections (and being uncomfortable along the way) really resonated with me. I’ve always felt that I need to ‘bat 1000 or fail’ when it comes to anti-racist work. The spectrum of awareness, rather than the binary of awareness encourages me to be invested in the process of anti-racist work and the acceptance of my own failings along the way.
I also loved hearing about the idea of stories co-existing. That stories are not an “if/and”, but rather a “both/and”.
