I really enjoyed the ted talk from the indigenous woman who talked about her own white privileged. I felt my own parallels to her story in that she spoke of hidden identities and the interplay with that and white privilege. I feel like I am pretty aware of my own privilege and what that has afforded me in comparison to some of my family members who are not able to access that same level of privilege based on their skin color and or their names. I also know that I have to continue to be vigilant of my privilege and work to actively not participate in perpetuating systems that continue to uphold it. While I would like to think that my place in life has been solely on my merits I know that my privilege has afforded me many opportunities that others would not have.
