What was your experience like completing the Implicit Association Tests? Did you feel stressed? Anxious? What were your thoughts
I was definitely stressed while taking these. I was also surprised that I had a slight preference for europeans over African Americans as I had taken this test several years ago and had no preference. I found this result concerning.
I had the same results but I really do not trust these tests as much as these are not taken by a certified professional. I feel that it should be done in a controlled environment.
I showed either a slight preference for poc or no preference at all. But I am still not sure that's accurate, though it's relatively desirable. I always feel that these tests are easily gamed by anyone who has a reason for manipulating the outcome. After today's experience with these four, I am sure of it. I noted how, when I read the instructions on which key to press for which grouping, I remember each side by neutralizing them. Surely people operating in bad faith have been able to figure that out and pass it along. If you are aware enough of how these things work, when you make a mistake, you could probably pull the results back to where you want them by making sure to make the same error with the opposite grouping. No wonder those police departments that have implemented implicit bias testing haven't been able to weed out troublesome officer candidates.
Discussion Decorum: Participants will treat each other with respect. When disagreeing or debating, focus comments on the facts and training content, not personalities. No personal attacks. Purposefully rude or derogatory language will not be tolerated.

I agree. It's too easy to game the test to get desirable results otherwise.
