I wasn't very surprised to find I have a slightly higher "American" rating for Native Americans, but I was a little surprised I showed the same for Asian Americans. I do tend to take the 'outsider's' side in many cases, but I have felt some bias against Asian Americans at times, as I live in a very Asian American town and sometimes have felt like I was the outsider. It was kind of comforting to see that I didn't express that bias in the tests, though, since I don't want to have that bias.
I felt like I was able to show bias toward minorities as good and American through these tests. I know I have some negative bias and fears that weren't recorded in these tests.
I wondered if this type of computer program could be used to change ingrained subconscious bias. I've heard of using bilateral tapping as a psychological method of changing brain patterns caused by trauma. I wonder if there is anything similar to change bias.
I've taken a similar test in a setting that included younger people and myself and one other older person. The youngsters were quite surprised and distressed at the results showing bias. Us old gals had results that showed bias to a lesser extent. We were equally distressed but not as surprised. I believe that age brings perspective and hopefully more self-awareness. It's not a contest. Experience can be the best teacher. I am old enough to know that my snap judgments are many and need to be monitored and reflected upon. And that is the end of my ageist monologue. Sorry young people - been there and done that. Not going back.
I had similar results and while I have strong bias toward people who are of AA descent and NA descent, I thought I would have skewed in the other direction with people of Asian descent. Mainly because my exposure is so limited as a white person.
