This simulation is both interesting and telling. Given the background of the school and the context, I think Mrs. Elliott taught an extremely important lesson in a very powerful way. This strong educational experiences are often ones students won't forget. She used the situation in the world around them to teach kids and adults the affects of discrimination. As an adult watching this, it is important to remember the difference in time. Students were changed in a day. Discrimination and racism against POC is as old as this country. POC feel the affects of discrimination and systemic racism from birth. We can learn form this experiment but we must also recognize that it's bigger than just a lesson or experiment.
