I looked at all the videos about different races talk about how then felt about Conversations about race:
White person views: Most of subjects felt that it was touchy subject especially for white people. They have their own system of advantages and disadvantages. There is no difference just because I bought it up when I talk about race. White people may talk on an impulse getting past the racism.
Native American person view: They identify themselves as Indegineous people. Every aspect of who you are. People often have pre-conceived notion of what it is supposed to be. They feel that they Still are not being treated properly. Native americans are treated as Exotic. When ever they fill out forms they have to prove their Nativeness. Still have shame by association.
Latinos: Community gets built from where they are coming from(heritage). They try to blend in with culture of America and lose their identity. it hurts to know that people assume right away just by looking at them. I am brown, not black or white.
Black women views: They are attacked in many different ways. Often are questioned about their physical appearances like Hair etc. No dating other people of color.
Asian views: Chinese or Japenese? You have an accent when you speak. Where are you from? These are questions always asked about Asians. Not as many Asian American mentors at the work place. Asians don't speak up.
Black man view: Unsure of whether to feel superior and inferior. Majority of times are stopped and questioned by cops whereas white students not questioned. When you wear something on body relates to gang. May have Criminal record. Because of their skin color do not have as many chances. Have to constantly live in fear. Always act in an appropriate manner.
As an Indian American, I face an Identity crisis at home. I have to teach my daughter to follow American culture at school and Indian culture at home. As an Indian, I am discriminated stating that I am taking away American jobs. Mostly identified as being overly intelligent having profession of an engineer, doctor or IT.
