It was very interesting for me to realize that there was a difference for me personally watching the "conversation with white people" than all of the other videos. It wasn't so much what was being said by by whom. I found myself judging based only on looks and thinking...why are you saying you are white when your not, which made me stop and question why I was feeling that way.
I personally am 50/50 Mexican and American. Most people who look at me say "white" but I say no, I am Mexican/American and just because I am not the "typical" indigenous looking Mexican, it is my race... I'm not sure why this struck me so strongly and am going to be processing for some time to come.
I had heard that 1 drop of black blood makes you black but knew nothing about the "blood quantam." I am realizing that I am so ignorant on the subject of race and where racism comes from...This is very eye opening.
