The thought of having white privilege or entitlement has always made me uncomfortable. I never wanted to be someone that anyone saw as "superior." I never wanted anyone to think that I saw anyone else as inferior. But the more I learn about it, the more I read, the more I watch - the more I understand. There really is nothing I can do to stop the fact that I do have white privilege. Even though reading through "Unpacking Your White Privilege" made me uneasy because a lot of those points, while yes - work for me as a race, do not work for me as a woman; I still concede the fact that, being white, I have privilege. But the line if you have privilege you have to be accountable, was very powerful. And I feel that I can take that now and use it.
