In the Ted talk video, i realized the speaker was the perfect person to address white privilege because she's experienced marginalization but also experienced white privilege. Right now I think its important to keep learning and taking it all in. Like the TED speaker said "listen" - even when its uncomfortable. White privilege is having the luxury of 'turning it off' or 'walking away'....So, I vow to bear the uncomfortable; check my privilege when i feel defensive or offended; to listen and learn; and to speak out/act against oppression/systemic & institutionalized racism. Although I didn't ask for this privilege, I do benefit from it and therefore need to continue learning as much as I can in order to stop contributing to things that perpetuate it.
