What were your initial reactions to this video? What feelings or thoughts did it bring up for you? What types of bias did you notice while watching? This is a great opportunity to share with the other participants I was recently made aware of the blue eye/brown eyes experiment so re-watching up wasn't as jarring as the first time. I felt the pain of the exclusion those children went through and their behaviors elicited a visceral reaction for me. It's so quick that people can turn on each other when they are given the slightest bit of power, with the blessing of authority, over someone else. It also strikes me that this video and experiment are as valuable today as they were 50 years ago; it makes me incredibly sad. The point of having history is to learn from it. How much progress truly has been made?
