I agree w/your comment. I think the tests conditioned me to have the lag time in responding that resulted in the final sections of each "E" and "I" stroke. I was not surprised by my "results", but I don't think the info w/the results was useful either.
Maybe we'll find out more about the tests in later modules. Can probably fool the tests if you've taken one before or know how the algorithm works. This is why some work placement testing does not make sense to me to be a basis for hiring.
I was surprised about the outcome I had on the IAT on race. Although I surely understood what was being assessed and how, I felt there was a bit of a problem in the validity of this test for myself. I have ADD, and was initially very confused just in terms of cognitive processing when the left side and right sides were switched, which slowed down my reaction times. I subsequently was assessed as being strongly biased in the direction of favoring European background. I don't think for me at least that this was an accurate assessment of how I think or feel about racial bias. I understand I have some biases, we probably all do to some extent, but I don't think this correctly assessed my attitudes and values about racial bias.
