I'm committing at this moment to being an anti-racist educator. I've always prided myself on being anti-racist and adopting an inclusive pedagogy however after watching the videos in Module 1 and being moved to tears and rage several times, I feel I need to make a determined commitment and action plan toward developing anti-racist curriculum to shine a light on the silenced histories and perspectives of oppressed groups. It's not enough to simply cover topics. There must be a whole reworking of curriculum to include critical thinking in relation to historical frameworks, oppressive policies, and more. After watching these videos it is clear there have been strategic and abusive forces at work in our country for hundreds of years. I think many of us tend to think of these abuses as things of the past, however, they are still active today. Things need to change and education is the ideal place to work toward reform. Thank you! I just saw your post but had posted the question of "how do we teach our children". I will go check out your link.
