I was familiar with most of the terrible situations detailed in the videos, but there's always more to learn. The adoption crisis among Native Americans was complete news to me. In addition, the only time I'd ever heard a reference to the Carlisle School was as the "home" of Jim Thorpe. No reference was ever made to the fact that this was a de facto indoctrination center.
It's heartening to see so many people delving into this course to learn more. Share the link, and get more people involved.
I feel the same, it is so interesting which aspects of history are never referenced. Growing up in PA, and being a part of foster care, I knew very little outside the current implications of how ICWA could impact fostering and adoption, but now that I have better historical context-- I understand why those laws are so protective of first people!
