After viewing the videos in Module 1, I was speechless. I consider myself educated and an ally, but clearly, I have so much more to learn. I was not aware of the Indian boarding schools or the gas baths in El Paso. These atrocities have been left out of every classroom I've been in and I have a masters degree in Social Work!! If I am this moved by video clips at the beginning of this training, I can only imagine how much more I'm going to learn. I'm sickened by our real history and even more sickened that it has been swept under the rug in the name of white supremacy. Thank you for this opportunity.
While I am rarely speechless and I have heard/read/studied most of this before... I join you at being sickened by our history and our denying/hiding it instead of acknowledging, discussing, addressing, and learning from it. How can we make this change?
