The New Jim Crow Museum video was a great experience. The actual museum, I believe, is in Michigan at Ferris State and I can't wait to see it in person. One statement made, which I think is one of the catalysts of the US's racial history is that "Caricatures become rationalizations." People in the US used those caricatures to rationalize all the violence and exploitation of people of color. How fitting that I watched the video now during the time where many of the products are being removed or renamed. I think more people should experience the video and see the connections between caricature and violence.
