I think the part of this module that I think about the most is how the medical field (and by proxy development of the fields of psychiatry, and then clinical psychology) played roles in further marginalization and separation of people of color from white people. It makes me wonder in what ways there might have been bias in my training and in the systems we use to treat mental illness, despite much effort and emphasis on cultural competency. If there are books that highlight modern examples of racism or white supremacy in mental health treatment, or in medicine in general, I'd love to know of recommendations 😊
