I definitely think that historical events impact policy today. Many of the topics in the videos were new to me, such as the topic regrading Native American persons and adoption. Sometimes I find it hard to learn about how social workers have been used as a tool to implement racist policies and how sometimes those polices are still in play today. It's very important for social workers to be taught about these events because we need to know what to do differently especially because policies are often created with a eurocentric point of view.
