The historical laws and events that have occurred throughout our world history definitely still impacts the way in which society views race. I find that racism can be passed on from one generation to the next, and if children aren't educated on the wrongness of racism as well as important historical events regarding racism, then we will still continue to have racists to this day. I grew up in a non-racist household and learned from very early on that people of all colors and ethnicities are good people who should be treated equally. While I was taught to never discriminate, I feel as though my family wasn't anti-racist, more so just not outwardly racist and good enough people to teach their children that racism is a bad thing. As an adult, I notice more questionably statements from my family that prove to me they still have some education to go through in regard to the history of racism. These videos shocked me not in the sense that I was unaware, but in the sense that the details and dark stories really are needed for one to truly understand just how much of an issue racism WAS and still IS to this day. The video regarding racism in the medical field truly hurt and I am hoping to learn more about the topic because it is such an issue.
