Certainly the caricatures earlier in the module, and the Jim Crow Museum's very powerful objects and images give one a lot to reflect on. Did I see that Popeye cartoon (Jim Crow Museum) as a kid? I DID have a Little Black Sambo book back in the early 1950s. It makes me sad and angry to think that the market for these types of objects is thriving. At least in the past few weeks food companies are deciding to remove the racist caricature logos they have been using for decades (Aunt Jemima, the Cream of Wheat man) but will that create a new market for those images?
