To say that this does not happen is choosing to stay ignorant of what in front of our faces on a daily basis. I have these conversations with students I work with in my role as a school and community college counselor. While agree education is something that will lead to economic change I do not forget the fact that institutional racism is a block to ensuring the well earned education is not the only key to the necessary societal change.
