A lot of information to absorb and was glad that it covered a full range of the BIPOC cultures embedded in our country. A little overwhelmed… I hadn’t realized (nor was taught) :
~Race only became discussed as Phenotype with the rise of Capitalism in the 1600s.
~That Native Americans were forced into the adoption system so coercively; ((the history I learned centered around native Americans being forced on to ever shrinking and underserved reservation lands))
~Horrified to learn that our racism & use of Zyclon B against LatinX/Hispanics in the early 1900’s contributed to the HOLOCAUST… knowing Trumps grandfather was part of the KKK circles on a loop in my mind in this section…
Illuminates how much history is whitewashed by the educational and publishing industry.
