Of course they do, even if were not directly affected, our ancestors were and the trauma of racism transcends generations. This affects our values, beliefs, behaviors, actions, lenses from which we view our world, are viewed and interact in it. While the videos offered a glimpse of what and how historical trauma has impacted multiple marginalized populations, all we have to do is look around us in our current circumstances to see how systems, large and small are still influenced and impacted by racism on the daily. While I can appreciate the chosen video regarding immigration, I believe that with us being a border area region that more could have been done to localize and offer a more personal relationship we and our communities have specific to immigration, racism and xenophobia. I hope that this is explored in future modules. Thank you for this introduction.

That is a great idea for an intermediate level workshop, however! So perhaps we can explore those specifics more in future work. - Brenda
