I do believe historical rules and laws have impacted societal views of minority groups and have fostered racially charged views of those groups. Its very apparent all groups still suffer from institutional racism and past policies. I think the most prevalent racist agenda/laws are those that target immigrants. The conditions of the holding facilities at the borders are incredibly sad and disheartening. Simply because people are not citizens of one country does not mean they should be treated less humanely. I can recall from a young age (grew up in the 90s) that there was a bias against those of Hispanic heritages and backgrounds. The phrases of "they take our jobs" or "they are probably here illegally" were commonly spoken when growing up and I still hear those phrases to this day. It is racial biases like these that need to be eliminated.
