I see the connections throughout our history from the oppression of slavery to Jim Crow laws to red lining. Our American foundation is systemic racism. There has been a consistent knee to the neck of all people of color from the location and type of housing opportunities, to work opportunities to educational opportunities (or I should say lack of opportunities). And not only are these systems in place - they are set to create a cycle of poverty and incarceration. How can people of color get off this not merry-go-round of racist oppression? We...all of us...have to come together and break down this system through voting and reforming these systems.
