It seems to me red-lining is just another piece in the political game. It's all about money. Keep the people of color in certains areas of town, where low income is prevalent, creating lower taxes; giving no chance of receiving loans for a start-up business in that area of town; therefore, lower budgets for schools; less opportunity for good educational programs; less opportunity for decent paying jobs. All this can lead to higher crime, just to make ends meet to support a family. that's not to say that all people of color or anyone living in poverty choose a life of crime as a way to make ends meet. Unfortunately, some people believe they have no other choice.

I have noticed since I was in high school (60s) how much is left out of the teaching of our history. Most of the history we hear about make the U.S. policies and actions to be mostly heroic. But, the ugly, the really important parts of our story isn't talked about.
Disturbing to watch all of these videos. I agree that the redlining and therefore, the lower educational dollars invested in schools and groups of people is something that is clearly wrong and frightening to know that it continues today. LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION is the saying when looking for a house: "Good school district, parks, opportunity..." There needs to be a different way of taking the dollars from property taxes and investing in ALL of our schools, regardless of LOCATION. Give all the opportunity to succeed and be educated...where/when will this begin
