I understand that each country has particular issues around biases, cultural differences, race... But when it comes from a country like the US, this racial biases can easily creep into different countries. I can only speak from my own experience.
I have lived in the US most of my adult life, but was born and raised in Japan. Sometimes the view around race I hold from growing up in Japan is horrific. It's as if I was drinking up what white people wanted to advocate like cool-aid. Digging one layer deeper, I have this view of whatever white America presents is modern and forward-thinking. I see many tweets that are against BLM in Japanese. Example would be tweets around George Floyd had many criminal records, so the police must have had to use that much force. And even a national television company (NHK) released really biased video on what's happening with the protests. It's like Jim Crow came back out on the other side of Pacific Ocean.
I do hope going forward, the change in the US will spread like wild fire intentionally as well.
