I am both astounded and unsurprised at the amount of sh***y history the U.S has tried to sweep under the rug. Given the events of the recent past, and the sudden popularity of this training, I absolutely think that the problems talked about in all the videos still have some effect on today's society. Look at the statistics on the greater number of COVID cases in Black communities! That is connected to all of this. The water crisis in Flint happened too recently to be fixed already. In fact, I have read that is ongoing and hasn't been fixed at all, but it is no longer "trending" and people have moved on. The racist policies and practices mentioned in the video absolutely still have an affect on us today. These videos were hard to watch sometimes. I am trying to reckon with why white people feel we need to force others that our different to conform to our way of being. Why do we need to force people from their homes, and families just because it doesn't align with our ideas?
