The video discussing the history of our country being set up to the benefit of white people is absolutely true. When you look back through history, as I posted in my first post entitled "History," you can see the trends and patterns of systemic racism are incredibly pervasive. What did the killing of Native Americans accomplish? What did enslavement accomplish? What did limiting educational and economic opportunities available to minorities and people of color accomplish? What did Jim Crow laws accomplish? What did redlining accomplish? All of these benefit white people over everyone else. And just to be sure that no one attempted to argue about this, the bias of many sciences and the legal system were originally built to protect this system. If the propaganda is strong enough, the arms are deadly enough, and the consequences dire enough, very few people will want to challenge that system. They will stay in that system, trapped and hopeless that anything better is even possible.
Fortunately though, there are people who have stood up against these systems and continue to do so even in the face of severe adversity. These people are not afraid to get stand up for what is right and get their points across. It is sad that they still need to stand up for inequity and in the face of racism, colorism, sexism, and all of the other -isms that hold one person over another.
