In Module 1, I learned that racism in American history is like the mythological Hydra that spouted two heads when one of its heads was chopped off. Racism has raised its ugly head in all areas of American history from the founding of this country on the backs of American Indians and slaves to the policies of the current administration. And when activists and anti-racists attempt to destroy one head, others take its place. I learned that systemic racism exists in almost every aspect of American life including immigration (gas houses), housing (Redlining), the environment (Cancer Alley), medicine (Tuskegee experiments), etc. Even today we see the same grotesque "heads" rising up with different faces but the same venomous intent.
