After watching these videos, some of the events I had heard of before but some were parts of US history that I had never heard of. It was surprising to me to think about all of the ways that historical US leaders created a mentality in white people that we are the superior race and that we need to keep ourselves isolated to maintain that superiority. I can absolutely see how those "old" views have spilled over to current day thinking because these were very recent events. So the current generation of older people were young when all these ideals were put in their heads and they passed it to their children. I don't see this engrained racism will change until my generation has children and starts to send a new message. But it will take a lot of discussion and awareness to break this cycle.
