As an adult, I am grateful for this training and historical view of racism and discrimination. I can have a different lens than when I learned about these things in school. I definitely think these historical events still shape American views of immigration, as well as the racism and discrimination that continues today. The thing that stuck out the most for me was the use of gasoline baths on immigrants coming to the US and how that was later used in Germany as an example of how to kill Jews in the Holocaust.
