There were a lot of components of this module that I thought had an impact on my thinking around what it means to be anti-racist. It's been easy for me to frame anti racist thinking in terms of anti black racism in the United States, because that's what I have been most exposed to. However, the first set of videos exposed me to the plight of Native Americans (beyond what I had known before) and Asian Americans (I had never even heard of the Chinese Exclusion Act). While the issues surrounding illegal immigration and the poor treatment of black Americans have been more publicized recently, I think there are more systemic issues to dig into. I was probably the most appalled with the caricatures of President Obama. That feels too recent to be real. How have we not collectively learned from the past?
