For me, one of the hardest things about learning institutional racism is how wide the body of evidence is, and knowing that others still refuse to see the truth. One example is that almost none of these things were taught to me in American History classes throughout my education, both in public schooling and also in higher education. Even today I am continuing to learn more about our history and I am appalled that Americans get this watered-down version of events that reflect the injustices committed on behalf of the American government.
