I found the section on environmental racism to be the most surprisingly information. The video states that on average middle class African American people are more likely to live in a environmentally toxic location than a white person that makes only $10,000 a year is. That is clear geopolitical racism at play! I recently moved from Maine to New Orleans and since moving down here I have learned about Cancer Alley. It's disgusting that the oil companies who are poisoning people living in Cancer Alley are not held accountable, because they have enough money and power to skew the data collected and allow for biased environmental reports to be done. Meanwhile the low income and predominately African American families that live in Cancer Alley continue to get sick.
@Maile Lichtman I know, very sad. A similar situation happened in Puerto Rico, in the south part of the island. Oil companies left the island, but the contamination is still there and there are a lot of cancer incidents in this area because of the contamination and pollution. Money talks :(.
In may cities old downtown areas you find soil contaminated by lead coming from leaded gasoline burning. Affluent people long moved to the suburbs, you can guess who is left behind.
