After listening to the video about Environmental Racism, I was astonished. I did not realize that it even existed, even being aware of the water situation in Flint, Michigan. All news reports I saw about Flint were white families being interviewed, and I did not realize that Flint is a predominately Black city. What shocks me even more that there are several examples of Environmental Racism throughout the country but the Environmental Protection Agency's Office of Civil Rights has failed to formally find examples of discrimination. This makes me question who is running this office? Is it predominately white men? Are there any People of Color in leadership and management positions within this Agency? Why are they failing to see the facts staring them in the face? Every member of Government should be required to take Anti-Racism classes and hear the true history of oppression people of color have had to endure and continue to endure at the ends of White Americans.
