Without a doubt they absolutely do in my mind. When watching the video about the US/Mexico border, the similarities to what we are dealing with now are astonishing and horrible. I am so disheartened how far back racism goes, even to the point of even if someone is white, if they aren't from here or where I'm from, they aren't the same. They pick out religion as the defining characteristic to discriminate. That was the moment that made me go deeper and realize how superiority thinking is detrimental to any progress. I was aware of zip codes being a major indicator of success, health, access to opportunities, I see it every day in my job and although I can't change where a person lives, I can provide access to educational opportunities. This first section really stems down to the fact that having the mentality and belief of a superior race is damaging.
