As I continue to center myself around the dismantling of my own biases and my own ignorance to how I was supporting my white supremacy, it was important for me to know that I had a beginning knowledge that was enhanced on all of these topics that were brought up today. One topic that stood out to me was the adoption of Native Americans. I knew about a lot of the unethical assimilation practices that white people did to the Native Americans, but these seems unfathomable to me. The fact that white people as a race were so threatened by the Native Americans and their way of life that they did anything they could to "civilize" assimilate them screams white supremacy and should demand for some type of reparation. For so long we have lived on stolen land. We stole this land, we slaughtered Native Americans for, we killed Mexican-Americans for more because we were greedy, we took Black people from Africa and made them into slaves and justified that by creating races. This was all created by the white man and somehow this is still okay and that needs to change.
