I've always believed this, but this section of module 1 gives so much context and proof for this to be true. First, we know the history of oppression and racism to be true. The section outlining bias in its various forms is really illuminating though. And then the list of what bias impacts: our perception, our attitude, our behaviors, our attention, our language, even our ability to listen (or not!) - this validates that so many people are acting out the blueprint for race relationships laid out in our history and propaganda. We have been fed a steady stream of stereotypes to create a picture of what "black" is, of what "Hispanic" is. Marginalized people are continuing to struggle with stress and trauma, and they will until bias and perception and access CHANGE.
